Dear Resident;

I am writing to inform Ballville residents with American Electric Power (AEP) as your provider, an electric aggregate program has been provided by Ballville Township. Within the next month, you will be receiving a letter from Dynegy, the electrical company who we contracted with for the aggregate program. It will be a letter to OPT-OUT of the program if you wish. You will have to submit the reply card as provided by the company. If you do nothing, you will be automatically put into the program. This procedure is a requirement of PUCO and not Ballville Township or the electric company.

If you would like to cancel at any time, there is no charge. If you decide to enter the program at a later date, there is no charge.

The rate provided by Dynegy is $0.0695 per kWh and it will be locked in for two years till June of 2025. The rate for AEP customers currently is approximately $.07. In July of 2023 AEP is seeking a rate increase from PUCO. This increase is estimated at approximately $0.10 to $0.121 per kWh per our consultant Trebel Energy LLC. If this happens, the aggregate program will give the residents a savings as follows: $0.10 – $0.0695 = $0.0305 or $0.121 – $0.0695 = $0.0515 savings per kWh. So, for every 1,000 Kwh you use a month you will save between $30.50 to $51.50. Dynegy rate is locked in, where AEP can request additional rate increases over the next two years.

A copy of this letter and information about the program are attached for you review. Please do not through the letter away when it comes in the mail from Dynegy. If you have any questions, please contact the township in regard to this program.

Sincerely,

Bob Kusmer
Ballville Township Trustee
