BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
The Board of Zoning Appeals is a 5-member board appointed by the Township Trustees, and meets on an as-needed basis, the time and place of which are published in the Fremont News Messenger. They has the following duties:
To hear and decide appeals
To grant variances for area or use
To grant special use permits
To grant home occupation permits

BOARD MEMBERS
Jonathan Winters – Chairman
Dale Hill

Appeals and variances go to the Board of Zoning Appeals only after an applicant is refused a zoning permit by the zoning inspector.
The Board of Zoning Appeals receives applications for variances, special use permits or home occupations permits for its consideration.
The Board of Zoning Appeals then conducts a public hearing to review the application and gives its approval or disapproval.
The only recourse to a decision by the Board of Zoning Appeals is to the courts and not the Township Trustees, as set forth in the Ohio Revised Code.
