November 5, 2019 the residents of the Township will be voting for the renewal of the road levy. The levy has been in place since the late 1980’s and renewed every five years. No new taxes will be assessed from this levy. The levy has an annual projected revenue for the township of $189,971. By continuing it as a renewal levy, the State of Ohio has a rollback tax attached to it. This means Ohio will pay approximated $55,800 of the levy, saving the residents tax dollars. If the renewal is rejected the rollover tax by Ohio will be lost.

The road levy is used to pave our streets and repair storm drainage along the roads. We also use the levy to pick up leaves in the fall for residents. The brush drop-off, approximately once a month at Universal farms which is free for Ballville Residents, comes out of this levy.

We hope this will give you some facts on the renewal of this road levy. No new taxes, State of Ohio pays for $55,800 in rollover fees of the total tax. Also, the Township uses the revenue to pave roads, fix drainage, leaf collection in the fall and brush drop-off. If you have any questions, please contact a Trustee or the Township.
